One of the reason I chose to go to Backbone was the opportunity to work on Gauntlet, a game I grew up on in the arcades.  I was given the responsibility of coming up with the behaviors of 30 different enemies while also creating and implementing the player Power Moves.  There were ideas for the Warrior’s Power Moves (and the Valkyrie, I think) before I came in but most of the other Power Move ideas I came up with.
My two favorites were the Wizard and the Elf. Â The Elf was a monster. Â Zipping through crowds. Â Trying to control the masses. Clearing paths through mobs. Â So much fun. Â The Wizard had that crazy Gravity Well.
It was unfortunate it never saw the light of day. Â Not for lack of trying by our management staff. Â The game was finished, but never found a publisher. Â There are some cool videos out there showing off some of the features.
